| CAR & BODY:
1. Car may be 1970 to current year model. Wheel base 101-inch
maximum. Must weigh 2100 lbs. minimum with driver after race.
Pick-up bodies and frame can be used in this class. Pick-ups can
be 108-inch wheel base maximum. Must be stock frame. Same rules
apply for these cars as construction of roll cage, belts, seats,
etc. Fuel cell must be in pick-up bed with top of bed covered
with metal. Car must have stock floor pan, front to rear. NO extended
cabs allowed.
2. Rear wheel drive 4 cylinder cars only – no rotary engines.
Engine manufacturer must match car manufacturer. No independent
rear suspension. On all uni-body cars the rear suspension cannot
be altered or fabricated in anyway. Stock leaf spring hangers
must remain in stock location, with no fabricating of any kind.
3. Bodies must be stock OEM, or fabricated with roof, with stock
bumper location. Gutting allowed but stock floor pan and front
firewall must remain intact. All plastic must be removed. Plastic
fender well, trim, lens, dash, etc. All glass must be removed.
Hoods must cover radiator. Bodies cannot extend more than 3”
outside of tires.
4. All doors must be welded shut.
5. 5 inch spoiler maximum.
6. Rear seat must be removed and rear firewall completely enclosed.
No holes in front of rear fire walls.
7. Hood scoops okay.
8. Nerf bars allowed. 1-1 ½ tubing, round or square, flush
mounted on each side. No exposed bolts.
9. Must have windshield 2x4 minimum screen post to post.
BUMPERS:
1. Original equipment steel bumpers are allowed, but cannot be
reinforced. Bumpers may be fabricated from maximum 2” O.D.
tubing with ends turned back to frame so no ends or sharp edges
are exposed.
2. One 8” tall loop may be welded on top of bumper, no wider
than frame rails. One 4” tall loop may be welded under bumper
to protect bottom of radiator, no wider than frame rails
3. Rear bumper 8” tall loop may be welded on top of rear
bumper. Must have a top protective loop at the rear that extends
at least 1 inch below the fuel cell.
SUSPENSION:
1. Suspension parts must remain absolutely stock for that make
and model of car, except: any OEM passenger car rear end may be
used, and spring rates may be altered. Spring spacer OK. Shocks
must be mounted in stock location with stock mounts. Lowering
blocks OK but no more than 1 ½” per spring. Weight
jacks are legal.
2. One 360-degree drive shaft loop required. Drive shaft must
be painted white.
STEERING:
1. Stock steering box must be in original stock location. No
rigid one-piece rod to steering wheel. No center steering. Steering
wheel and driver must be on left side of drive shaft hump –
no modifications of hump and no rear drivers seat. Stock-type
power steering and after market quick steering box are allowed.
TIRES AND WHEELS:
1. Tires – 11” hoop rule – no mud or snow tires,
no recaps. Tires must be DOT number and be street legal. DOT Hoosier,
Mickey Thompson, Goodyear, etc. allowed. Optional tire –
26.5, 27.0 x 10.0 x 13, 14 or 15 take-off track tire. 1”
lug nuts required. Grooving of tires will be allowed.
2. Wheels – any steel wheel, not to exceed 10” in
width. If stock wheels are used, center must be reinforced. Must
be approved by track before competition.
SAFETY:
1. Fire suits, shoes, gloves and neck collars must be worn at
all times during racing. SA rated Snell 2000 or better helmets
are mandatory.
2. All cars will be equipped with a full size 16 x 20 window net.
Window net must be in use at all times.
3. A 3” safety belt and shoulder harness with 2 belts over
shoulders, and a quick release type required. Must have a minimum
of one submarine strap. All belts must be securely fastened to
frame or cage. Belts must be replaced every four years beginning
with belts dated 2000. Date tag or stamp is required.
4. With driver strapped in car minimum 2” head clearance
required from top of roll cage to top of driver’s head is
mandatory.
5. Two throttle return springs and a steel toe strap on throttle
is mandatory.
6. An onboard fire extinguisher is mandatory.
ROLL BARS:
Roll bars must be safe, welded properly and pass inspection.
All bars must be padded around driver’s head and arm areas.
The 4-point cage must be at least 1 ½” round tubing.
FUEL:
Racing gas or pump gas only. No nitrous oxide. No additives are
allowed. Fuel cells are mandatory. No boat gas tanks and no jerricans
allowed. There must be a metal divider between the fuel cell and
the driver. All fuel cells must be boxed in.
RADIATOR:
Radiators must have divider between driver and radiator.
TRANSMISSION:
Any stock transmission, no modifications allowed. Drive shafts
must be painted white. Drive line loop required behind front yoke.
Two piece drive shaft must have two loops.
NUMBERS:
All numbers must be at least 14 inches tall. Numbers are limited
to 3 digits and letters are no permitted. Cars are to have an
18-inch or larger number on the roof for scoring. Please keep
numbers clear so that they may be visible to scorers.
AGE REQUIREMENTS:
At his sole discretion, the track promoter has the authority
to permit/or not permit a driver 16 years and younger to participate
in any class.
FUEL PUMP:
Any manual pump allowed. Electric fuel pump is okay but must
have kill switch.
CARBURETOR:
One (1) two (2) barrel Holley carburetor not to exceed 500 cfm.
No solenoid. Carburetor will be checked using a GO-NO-GO guage.
Carburetor venturibore, throttle plate bore, throttle shaft diameter,
and booster size will be checked using GO-NO-GO guages. Measurements
are as follows: venturibore max 1.390”, throttle plate bore
max. 1.700”, throttle shaft diameter minimum .180, booster
height size minimum .435”- booster size interior maximum
.385”- exterior booster max. .6600”. The use of fuel
injection, supercharger, turbo charger, nitrous oxide or water
injection will not be allowed. (CLAIM RULE: The track will be
the only one that can claim - $250.00)
CLUTCH:
Any type clutch. Automatic is ok.
REAR END:
Any passenger car rear end allowed. Floater type optional. Must
be spool type only. No locking or posi-track allowed.
BRAKES:
Must have at least three wheel working brakes, right front brake
optional. Brake valves okay. Brakes must work at all times. After
market brakes are optional. Four wheel disc okay. If no brakes,
you will be found illegal.
KILL SWITCH:
Must have kill switch. Must be highly visible on dash
BATTERIES:
Battery may be relocated but must be securely mounted and covered
with sheet rubber. Must be able to start car at all times.
DISTRIBITORS:
Any distributor is ok. No after market boxes.
MUFFLERS:
Headers ok. Exhaust must exit under car past driver.
ENGINE:
Four cylinder engines only.
Overhead cam engine; 140 cubic inch or 2.3 + 0.60.
Overhead valve engine; 181 cubic inch or 3.0 + 0.60
Ford may run any steel or cast head (no dual plugs)
No dual overhead cam engines.
Shaving or milling heads ok.
Any size valve or valve spring.
Any hydraulic or solid cams are legal.
No roller cams on over head cam engine.
Push rod engines may run any cam and pistons.
Port and polishing ok.
GM, Nissan, Toyota, and Chrysler may run any steel or factory
aluminum head.
No after market aluminum head on any engine.
Short block may run any rod and crank. Must be stock bore and
stroke.
Pistons – Flat top pistons on overhead cam engines.
Intake – any intake ok.
Engine must be same as manufacture.
